12 officers from the disbanded DCI SSU freed but on strict court orders.
12 officers from the disbanded special service unit are now free citizens. However, on the down side, there are certain things they have been mandated to adhere to.
They were given strict warnings against getting in touch with witnesses on their case.
The Kiambu court also ruled that they must be available for DNA sampling in regards to the kidnapping and murder cases.
Also, they are required to pen down statements are the Directorate of criminal investigations headquarters, anytime they are called forth.
The lawyers stated,”They were set free on the grounds that they obey court orders and avail themselves to allow their DNA tested at the government chemist because its appears the National Forensic lab is not yet in operation.”
“We still stand firm that the SSU officers are innocent. They will go for DNA testing when we agree. We have postponed the matter towards January 16 so that they can reunite with their families,” lawyer maintained.
