Kristina Wambui who is also a sister to President Uhuru Kenyatta has been nominated to the senate through the jubilee party. Kristina Wambui Pratt has a degree in humane letters which she pursued at the Kenyatta University.
Acccording to list published by the Independent electoral and boundaries commission, the sister to the president is among the 16 women in the legislative house nominated by Jubilee party.
Kristina Wambui who is 70years of age, comes from the most prestigious family in Kenya politically but she does not have any political history. Kristina was the 2nd in list list presented by IEBC.
Not only did jubilee elect her, she will alongside other prominent women in the country. This include Ann Kananu , the sitting Governor of Nairobi and Margaret Kamar who is the current senator of Uasin Gishu county.
The chairperson for Anti- female genital mutilation board, Lina Chebi who is also a Gender chief administrative secretary was also elected.
Other women that were nominated are : Narok County women leader, Stella Nasieku Kaparo, Women representative in Muranga county, Sabina Chege, Iran Rukia who is an ambassador of Kenya to Iran was also elected.
Some of the other nominees are Matere, who is a a member of the Azimio la Umoja presidential campaign team, Leshore Sammy will represent the persons with disability in the senate.
The jubilee party nationa chairman , Nelson Dzuya has been nominated to the national assembly as well as Hassan Osman.
Youth nominees are isaac Githua and Consolata Mutinda who will also represent the vulnerable and marginalised group in the county assembly.
Independent electoral commission however, issued a notice stating that anyone who has complaints regarding the nomination list is required to freely file their complaint.
The staement said,” The IEBC resolutin Committee(DRC) and the politica parties Disputes Tribunal(PPDT) shall be hearing disputes arising from person aggrieved from july 28, 2022 to August 6, 2022″
