As Kenya approaches the general elections, there has been fear of what happened in the year 2007.
The post election violence rendered so many families homeless and left many children without parents. Some of the areas that were affected is Eldoret which is in Uasin Gishu county.
Most leaders in their rallies have been preaching peace and unity during the elections.
In a tweet by one netizen, He stated,”Politics of Ruto and Raila will never make me disrespect and steretype my kikuyu, kuo or kalenjin peers. I grew up with in the hoods, in camous and hustling together out there.”
In today ‘s tweet , the Cabinet secretary for interior security, Fred Matiang’i ensured Kenyan citizens of their security and that they should not be worried of any clashes.
The tweet read,” Following approval by the national security Council for additonal resources, security services will bolster deployment of personnel and equipment including aerial assets in Molo, Kuresoi, Eldoret and other areas in the country Kenya mapped out as vulnerable to disturbance.”
The cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang’I,went ahead to affirm the resident of Nakuru county of their security. He said, ” A muiti- agency centre has been established in Nakuru to provide 24/7 support to wananchi drawing attention to security incidents for prompt response by security services.”
Earlier., the National police service had met for discussions on preparedness of state actors in creating a conducive environment for IEBC to conduct General elections.
The National police service pledged to continually offer their support, collaborate and provide security to all state and non- state actors.
The NPS Kenya further stated that the ministries surrounding them have received delegation of senior eminent and improved police presence to respond promptly to emerging concerns.
