Earlier today, deputy president, William Ruto has released a press briefing accusing the rift valley regional commander of planning chaos on election.
The Kenya Kwanza leader went ahead to link the hate leaflets that were being spread in Uasin to the night meeting Maalim Mohammed has been holding.
However, the interior principal secretary has stated that it is because of the hate speech spread by Kenya kwanza allies that has resulted to all this chaos.
He, Kibicho further stated that, Kenyans follow whatever their leaders say. He said that the propaganda utterances that were spoken in rift valley have influenced this.
He said,” Before we saw these leaflets, we had seen, especially the Kenya Kwanza side trying to speak very inflammatory things in Rift Valley. It’s in the public domain and immediately after they finished this reckless talk, we started seeing leaflets.”
He furthee reprimanded supporters from Kenya kwanza especially the principals to stop acting as victims and own up their mistakes.
Kibicho said,” Let people stop crying fowl and playing reverse psychology with people. We need to tame our tongues. The people in Kenya Kwanza need to tame their tongues because it is after their reckless remarks that it happened.”
The principal secretary further stated that the law shall act on anyone who spreads hate speech.
In his statement, “Anyone who will be found guilty of masterminding these leaflets will be acted upon and we are getting very good names from people who are arrested.”
Earlier on monday eight people were arrested in regards to spreading the leaflets. The cabinet secretary for interior Fred Matiang’i issued a statement saying,
“Even the claims you heard yesterday that the leaflets were authored by people from the office of the president, now we have eight suspects in police custody and none of them is an employee of the office of the president.
