In a press brief today, the Chairmain of National cohesion and integration Commission has spoke on the election results.
The results that are to be released today on 15th August 2022, have left many wondering if it is Kenya kwanza headed by William Ruto, Azimio la Umoja of Raila Odinga or Roots Party headed by Goerge Wajackoyah.
The National cohesion and integration Commission Chairman has emphasised that the election were peaceful and the winners( Presidential elect and Runners up) should find a way to accept the results.
He stated,”We urge the winner to reach across the divide to make peace and forge a way forward… We ask for the runner to be dignified and treated with decorum.”
The chairman further applauded the leaders who have conceded defeat and urged others who have not to do the same for the country to move forward.
He stated, ”We commended leaders who have accepted defeat peacefully and those who are seeking legal redress peacefully.”
The chairman of National cohesion and integration commission further urged Kenyans to remain respectful on each other. They should refrain from insulting and spreading propaganda on each other’s name.
He stated,”We all are brothers and sisters and Kenya needs us to remain so, no matter our political affiliations.”
The tallies are now done, verification and now announcement of results is being anticipated.
The allies of both Kenya Kwanza and Azimio la umoja have converged at the Bomas of Kenya.
According to the allies of all presidential candidates( William Ruto, Raila Odinga and Wajackoyah) have stated that their presidential candidates have won.
However, The Agano party leader, yesterday Conceded defeat as he Endorsed Presidential candidate William Ruto as the fifth president of Kenya.
Currently, the head of the Independent electoral and boundaries commission is expected to announce results any minute soon.
