Today, Azimio la Umoja leader, Raila Odinga has released a press briefing declaring yesterday’s presidential results null and void.
Due to the four commissioners press yesterday, Raila stated that the decision to announce the presidential was Chebukati’s alone.
Raila stated,”Unless a unanimous decision is reached ,a decision by any matter before the commission by a majority vote.”
Raila further stated that, Chebukati the only one who was accessing the system meaning transparency was not upheld in the whole election tallying process.
He said,” That is why Mr chebukati alone decided to announce the results. He alone accessed the system. He denied the other commissioners access to the system portal.”
He further stated that, the Azimio la Umoja coalition does not accept the results and that the results are not credible.
He said,”Our view in Azimio are clear, the figures announced by mr. Chebukati are null and void and must be dealt by a court of law.
Raila Odinga went ahead to state that they do not have a president elect.
He said,”As azimoo we do not have a president elect.”
He further stated that, determination whether Wafula Chebukati has done an electoral offence is up to the legislator.
He said,”Determination whether the mr chebukati has committed an offence is up to the court of law.”
Raila Odinga further commended his supporters for maintaining their calm and vigilance during this time.
He further urged his supported not to take the law into their own hands.
He said,”I want to commend our supporters for maintaining the peace. Let no one take the law into their own hands.”
He also congratulated the four commissioners who split to shed light on the matter.
He stated, I want to commend the four commissioners for standing up to Chebukati. We are proud of them and they should not fear anything.”
