Independent electoral and boundaries commission deputy , Julian Cherera ,has held a press briefing explaining why she rejected yesterday’s results.
Cherera stated that they have remain loyal to the oath of office they took. She went ahead to state that The summations of the results resulted to 100.1%.
Cherera also stated that the results from all the constituencies was not accounted for. The final tallying was not brought to the knowledge of the committee.
She further stated that the results that Mr. Chebukati announced, are his results and that the whole aggregation of the results is a mathematical absurdity.
“We have conducted the election and did it to our best. At the end is when the opaqueness started. She stated that the whole results were not displayed as required, and the Cumulative results.” She said.
Mr Wandera said,”As a commission we were not doing the tallies, it was being conducted by the technical team.”
“Mr Chebukati did not give us the time to discuss the reached results and check if there were any disparities. He brought in a tabulated document indicating a presidential winner without any verification from other commissioners.”He further stated.
They further stated that they are not able to answer why Wafula Chebukati did not want the results to be verified by all commissioner.
They said,”Whatever was done on the back, is Mr Wafula who can only answer.”
The problem they had is that they were not informed of the decision that was reached about the final results.
They also stated that Wafula Chebukati disregarded the issues that were raised by parties regarding the hacking of the independent electoral and boundaries commission portal.
This comes yesterday after Mr. Wafula Chebukati decided to declare William Ruto as the president elect of Kenya.
Juliani further insisted they were not involved in the last exercise regarding the form 34C.
Azimio la Umoja is expected to release a press today regarding the results.
