The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) and the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) have promised to work with the presidenta elect, William Ruto in his new government.
The KUPPET general secretary, Akelo Misori has stated that the union is willing to work with the government inorder to propel the ministry of education forward.
He further congratulated president elect , William Ruto in his elect as the 5th president .He also stated that in line with William Ruto’s acceptance speech that he is ready to propel the country Kenya forward that is together with the education ministry.
He said,”We extend our congratulations to President-elect William Samoei Ruto and affirm our commitment to deepening our partnership with the government in the interest of Kenyan teachers and the education sector as a whole.”
The Kenya national union of teachers(KNUT) also echoed the words by KUPPET stating that, he has won the hearts of many kenyans.
The Union’s general secretary ,Collins Oyuu states that the president elect was the best individual to run this country.
He said,”Pursuit for political leadership calls for intensive persuasion to the population towards winning their support to our dream positions; this you have done and won the hearts of more Kenyans than your competitors.”
Mr. oyuu further said that Ruto’s acceptance speech showed that the political era was a competition and not making enemies.
He said,”Your reconciliatory tone in your acceptance and maiden speech after you were declared winner has even encouraged us more after you affirmed that it was a competition and not enmity.
This comes after both the unions showed their support for azimio la Umoja leader, Raila Odinga. They had earlier said that Raila Odinga’s manifesto was the best.
They said,”As a union, we must set the bar high than ever before and any candidate who wants our endorsements should show us that he or she is explicitly a pro worker and pro-union candidate and Raila has shown that.”
