Aden duale reveals plans to bring back NG-CDF. The member of parliament, Garissa township.stated that their is no national assembly without the national government constituency development fund(NG-CDF).
Aden Duale stated that the national government constituency fund was a very important aspect of developing the constituencies including matters such as education for the less fortunate.
He said,”There is no Parliament without CDF.”
According to the media, the membet of parliament elect have all been reaching out to each other to come up with a petition that will bring back the national government constituency fund.
Earlier, the supreme court of Kenya led by Chief Justice Martha Koome, scrapped off the national government constituency fund ruling that it was unlawful.
In support of Aden Duale, Member of parliament for Kandara constituency stated that it was not right for the supreme court to do away with the National government constituency development fund(NG-CDF).
Alice Wahome, Kandara constituency member of parliament further said that , the national government constituency development fund(NG-CDF) is an entity with resources that would cater for any taxpayer in Kenya who is in need.
She further argued that the member of parliament are ready to fight for the National government constituency development fund(NG-CDF).
The constituency development fund(CDF) was developed by the government in the year 2003. The aim of the mandate was to channel 2.5 percent of the government’s total revenue to the fund.
Chief Justice Martha Koome on scrapping off the fund stated that the way the member of parliament were distributing the fund had gone against the public finance law.
The members of parliament are now coming up with ways to challenge the decision made by Chief Justice Martha Koome, inorder to bring back the National government constituency fund(NG-CDF).
She said,”“NG-CDF is a public entity with resources meant for the taxpayers which the parliamentarians have to protect.
