Supreme Court will decide the winner is what the deputy Chair of Azimio, Martha Karua,has promised her supporters.
Martha Karua who took to her twitter account to state that it’s not over till its over expresses that the election petition they filed will be decided by the supreme court.
She said,””Our national anthem we sing justice be our shield and defender, we have to get justice and when the court decides it will be the end. Even if you do not accept the decision at heart, we have to calm down and accept the court’s last decision.”
The Azimio la Umoja deputy further stated that, the court is the one mandated to give the justifiable verdict.
She also said that the Azimio la Umoja coalition is ready to accept the verdict from the supreme court headed by Chief Justice Martha koome.
She said,””You made your decisions and the court will decide if the mathematics was well done or it was at fault.”
On Wednesday, 17th August, 2022, Azimio la Umoja leader, Raila Odinga declared the presidential results null and void.
He stated that the coalition,Azimio la Umoja will will move to the supreme court to challenge the declaration by the Independent electoral and boundaries commission.
According to the independent electoral and boundaries commission, the presidential results were as follows, 48.85% scored by Raila Odinga and 50.48% garnered by William Ruto.
Raila Odinga stated that,””Let no one take the law into their own hands. We are pursuing constitutional and lawful channels to invalidate Chebukati’s illegal and unconstitutional pronouncement. We are certain that justice will prevail.”
“It’s not done till it’s done” said Martha Karua.
According to the law of Kenya, if a candidate is not satisfied by the declaration of Independent electoral and boundaries commission, he or she is free to move to the court of law
