Kenya kwanza nominates Moses Wetangula as the National Assembly speaker as earlier promised.
According to the FORD kenya leader, he had a deal with the Kenya kwanza coalition. He stated that if he will bring votes from the western region for William Ruto, then he will be the third in command.
According to the announcement made by Amani national congress party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, He stated that Moses Wetangula was unanimously nominated as the National Assembly speaker by kenya kwanza coalition.
Musalia said,”I have a singular honour and privilege on behalf of Kenya Kwanza to announce that we have unanimously agreed that the speaker nominee for the National Assembly for the Kenya Kwanza coalition shall be Moses Wetang’ula. Thank you and congratulation on behalf of Kenya Kwanza.”
As the constitution mandates, the Senator elect Bungoma,will have to resign inorder to be the third in command in Kenya.
In kenya, the National Assembly speaker is the third in command, the is after the president and his deputy.
Earlier, Moses Wetangula had told the media that he was going to be the third in command. That’s the deal he had with the Kenya kwanza coalition.
The FORD kenya leader also states that he was confident that he was going to secure the seat because his camp, Kenya kwanza had majority of the member in the National Assembly.
He said,”I am going to be the National Assembly Speaker, the third in command in the country, I want to assure our Kenya Kwanza we have the numbers… Those who decamped to our team saw this country is headed in the right direction.”
Kenyans are anticipating this race with hint that Kalonzo Musyoka will also be nominated by Azimio la Umoja coalition as the national assembly speaker.
Earlier, President elect William Ruto had stated that ten(10) member of national assembly who won through independent tickets had defected to Kenya kwanza.
