Raila’s campaign strategy cost him presidency, stated the former National Assembly speaker, Farah maalim.
Dadaab member of parliament elect stated that the Azimio la Umoja top principals could have gone back to their roots and drum for Azimio la Umoja coalition instead of staying at one place with their leader, Raila.
During his interview at TV47, his clearly outlined how Raila’s campaign strategy cost him presidency.
The wiper deputy leader, Farah Maalim revealed that , he raised the political strategy issue but his concerns was not given heed to.
He said that he pursuaded the Azimio la Umoja allies to garner votes from their home town instead of depending on the influence from the principals that is; The azimio la umoja leader and his deputy.
He stated,”I said don’t just keep on moving around with Kalonzo, Raila and Martha, these political bigwigs. Go to your own backyards and deliver votes.
Farah Maalim went ahead to state that he had seen it better if the Azimio la umoja coalition or the allies could have gone to gather votes from their backyards.
The political strategy cost them as a coalition making Raila odinga lose the presidential election.
He said,”I do not think that happened because they wanted that security for themselves so that they can secure the election. This cost us and there is no question about it.”
Farah also stated that if the politicians could have used his strategy, they would have given the Azimio la Umoja leader, Raila Odinga 90 percent of the votes from their backyards like he did.
He said,”Elections are very close and should not have been the case if all our members had done the right thing. If they did that they would have given Raila 90 per cent as I did myself.”
Maalim further revealed that he paid his agents really well to ensure that the process was free, fair and credible.
