KPLC announces changes in token purchasing
KPLC announces changes in token purchasing, this is after termination of contracts with 9 third parties that were involved in token purchasing.
In the letter, Kenya power and lighting company stated that purchase of token will from now on be made through the authorised KPLC channels.
The statement read,” We wish to inform our prepaid and postpaid customers that, effective Thursday, 1st september 2022, the purchase of prepaid tokens and payments of payment of postpaid bills will ONLY be made through the following authorised channels.”
Prepaid Channels or the common word “tokens” will be purchased through, M-pesa paybill 888880
Postpaid channels will pay their bills through M-pesa paybill 888888 or authorised banks through the link www.kplc.co.ke
New connections will pay through M-pesa paybill 888899
The Kenya power and lightning company further assured their customers that they can convieniently access these services.
They stated,”Customers can also convieniently access these services through KPLC banking halls countrywide. They can also purchase tokens or pay their bills via USSD Code *977#”
Kenya power also issued a warning regarding termination of the nine third parties.
It stated,” Please note that no other third party agent is authorised to offer these services on behalf of KPLC. The company will therefore not take liability for any transaction conducted through any other platform.”
