Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the transline staff who mocked Raila issues his sentiments.
In the viral video, the former transline staff was celebrating Raila’s loss, that is after supreme court dismissed the presidential petition.
He stated that he has been receiving threats from anonymous people after the video went viral on social media platforms.
He said that he is living in fear because the threats have forced him to stay at home.
He said,”Some people have been calling me issuing threats. One person to be specific, has kept on calling me telling me to meet him at an unknown disclosed location. I am going to report and forward the numbers to law enforcement officers.”
He however has apologised for what he did in his duty uniform. He added that he had not intent of hurting transline customers or Azimio la umoja supporters in the country.
He said,”I would like to apologise regarding the video going round on different social media platforms. I recorded it out of my stupidity while wearing my working attire.”
The former transline worker also confirmed that indeed transline company sacked him.
In a statement issued by Transline company, they stated that they are a transport company and not a political company. They serve everyone and do not have any political affiliations or preferences as a company.
Transline stated,”Our attention has been drawn by a video clip going around the social media done by the casual worker based at our Afya Centre offices.
They added, as a company, we wish to dissociate ourselves from that clip and state that it was done by the individual’s will and does not in any way represent the views of the company.
