Franklin Bett, Ex Moi ally explains the question, is it a must for president elect Ruto to live in state house.
Bett stated that, the decision solely lies on the incoming president. He will not be forced to live in the state house.
He said,”It is not mandatory for the President to live inside the State House. But he has the right to live there.”
He further explained,”President Jomo Kenyatta lived in there, Mwai Kibaki lived in there but President Moi did not live inside State House Nairobi. So the choice is William Ruto’s.”
Bett also revealed that if president Ruto decides not to live in state house, then the government will incur rent charges to facilitate his accomodation.
