President William Ruto takes oath of office
Today, September 13th 2022, president William Ruto takes oath of office together with his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua
First oath: Oath of allegiance
I William Samoei Ruto, in full realization. I assume as president of the republic of Kenya. That i will bear true allegiance to the republic of Kenya. As by law established and all other laws of the republic and that i will protect and uphold the sovereignty, integrity and dignity of the people of Kenya. So help me God.
The second oath :Due execution of office of the president
I william Samoei Ruto, swear that i will truly and diligently serve the people and the republic of Kenya in the office of president of the republic of Kenya. That i will diligently discharge my duties and perform my functions in the said office in the best of my judgment in the office of the president.That I will do justice to all without fear, favour, affection or ill will. That i will not directly or indirectly reveal such matters and I will be committed to my secrecy. So help me God.
He thereafter signed the certificates marking that the swearing in exercise in deed took place in the public eye, presided over by Chief Justice, Martha Koome and who will afterwards seal the certificates.
The Chief Justice thereafter handed over the certificate of the fifth president of Kenya.
Thereafter, swearing in of the deputy president, Rigathi Gachagua also followed.
