13 directives that president Ruto gave after his inauguration.
The following are 13 directives that President Ruto gave at Kasarani stadium.
1.Graduated NHIF payments
President Ruto directed that payments made to the National Hospital Insurance Fund will be dependent on the individual’s income. This is a relief to Kenyans who earn less.
2. End of fuel and Unga subsidies
President Uhuru stated that fuel and unga subsidies had not served Kenyans the way they were expected to. In addition to being very costly, consumption subsidy interventions are prone to abuse, distort markets and create uncertainty, including artificial shortages of the very products being subsidised.
3. Appoint six Judges
President Ruto said he will today appoint the six judges already nominated for appointment to the Court of Appeal three years ago by the Judicial Service Commission
4. Provincial administration to keep off politics
The president urged all public servants especially those in provincial administration to respect their office and strictly keep off political errands.
5. Financial autonomy of the police
President Ruto directed that the budget stipulated for National police service be transferred from the Office of the President and moved to the Inspector-General as the accounting officer.
6. Reduced fertiliser prices
President Ruto directed that a 50kg will be going for Ksh. 3500 from the normal price Ksh. 6500. The new price will take effect next week.
7. End of CRB Blacklisting
President Ruto said CRB will now work towards adopting a new system of credit scoring that provides borrowers with an opportunity to manage their creditworthiness hence eliminate blacklisting.
8. Hustler fund for MSMEs
President Ruto said he will provide the Hustler fund as he promised in his manifesto. The fund will be dedicated to the capitalisation of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises through chamas, saccos and cooperatives.
9. Review CBK guidelines
President Ruto said he is aware of the traders’ grievances of transactions exceeding 1M , he said this is difficult especially for genuine business transactions. His excellency assured new guidelines are in the works.
10. Low cost housing
President Ruto said, a new affordable housing program will be out targeting a total of 250, 000 units.
11. Deal with pending bills
President Ruto said he will advise the creditors on how to offset the pending bills.
