Identification of bodies retrieved from river Yala needed.
Yala Hospital, medical hospital superitendent, Bruno Okal has appealed for identification of bodies retrieved from River Yala.
Seven bodies with unknown identities were retrieved from the river in the last two months. Okal appealed to the families whose loved ones went missing to come on board and identify the bodies.
He said,”It is my plea to the community to come and help us identify these bodies so that they can be accorded decent send off.
The medical sup further said that the Yala hospital mortuary is overcrowded because it serves siaya, Vihiga and Kakamega counties.
The bodies comprise of six males and one female.
Earlier this year, 32 bodies were discovered from the same River Yala.
Out of the 32, only 13 were positively identified and released for burial by their relatives. The rest were buried by the hospital after a seeking a court order of unclaimed bodies.
