Musumali said, although the case hearing is done, ICC still has interest over the witness.
Musumali said,”Given the level the case had advanced to, ICC has already received news of his death and is looking into the matter. They have their own security team and if need be, they will involve Interpol.”
Musumali added that, in dealing with the case, everyone who was around him must be investigated,
Musumali added,”Homicide detectives need to have taken charge of the scene. Every member of the household including his spouse should be considered a suspect and be taken in for questioning.”
Musumali also said that a post mortem will be done to indicate the cause of his death.
Musumali said,”Post-mortem results will dictate whether the death was by natural means or toxicological analysis needs to be done. Findings will be a matter of local and international interest.”
Haggai Chogo who is also a security expert stated that since Gicheru was a witness in a case, his death may be considered as obstruction of evidence.
He added that, after his death, hague should deploy a number of experts to shed light into the matter since the local police may lack the necessary capacity to deal with the case.
Chogo said,”The problem we have in Kenya is corruption, which has infiltrated the justice system. As such, the crime scene and investigation could have already been compromised.
“Even if Interpol was to be involved, they would be limited in their work and may not be allowed to areas, crevices where the answers to his death may lie.” Chogo added.
