3 KDF officers die 15 injured along Nakuru- Eldoret highway.
Kuresoi North Sub County Police Commander Juddah Gathenge confirmed the incident stating that 3 KDF officers die while 15 were injured.
He noted that the truck, which was full of the officers, veered off the road, landing into a ditch on the opposite side of the road.
He stated that the cause of the accident was faulty breaks since the driver, struggled to keep the truck on the highway.
Gathenge stated,”Unfortunately we had three fatalities while the injured officers were rushed to Molo Sub County Hospital. Eight were seriously injured while nine were slightly injured.”
Among those who were injured was the driver, who was found unconscious, those officers who sustained injuries will be airlifted to Nairobi for further examination.
Bodies of the deceased have been moved to Molo sub-county mortuary, postmortem is set to be conducted later in the day.
This comes a month after a KDF officer died along the same road while 10 others were injured.
Nakuru police Commander reported,”A truck ferrying members of the KDF from Eldoret to Embakasi, Nairobi was involved in an accident. Unfortunately, we lost one while receiving treatment at the Rift Valley General Hospital.”
“Ten members of KDF were first attended to at the Nakuru Hospital. The majority were airlifted to Nairobi for further treatment,”Mwanzo added.
