Kalonzo talks on taking Wetangula to court- He was manipulated.
Wiper party leader, Kalonzo talks on taking Wetangula to court.
In a press brief, Kalonzo urged Wetangula to be assertive; not to be swayed by voices that would destroy his image.
Kalonzo further stated that his coalition is going to court, to petition the decision made by Wetangula.
Kalonzo said,” We are going to court to go against that ruling of my friend, Wetangula. He’s still my friend even though he occasions disharmony in the country. He knows it, so we’re ruling against that so we don’t do certain things.”
“So Wetangula please, don’t be manipulated. You’re my friend and we have a history from the times we were tear-gassed together. Don’t forget your friend. We must stand for what is truthful and just in this country,” he added.
This comes after Wetangula made a ruling that Kenya kwanza is the majority party in parliament.
Kalonzo also called on the president William Ruto, for reinstating GMO products back to the market.
He said that this was a rush decision and he should involve the public especially in matters that will affect their health.
Kalonzo stated,”I’m calling on William to reconsider for the sake of this country because a leader is one who says he is properly guided so let’s discuss. But to lift the ban and go to Tanzania the following day, then you talk about lack of maize and other products.”
Wiper leader further called on the clergy to be vocal about the GMO products and not let Kenyans suffer in silence.
Kalonzo stated,”We are surprised by the silence of the church which was once against GMOs. Could it be that they are pacified by the new administration? We urge our religious leaders not to sell their souls but to speak the truth to power.”
Supporting the GMO reinstatment was the atheists society of Kenya.
They stated,” Biotechnology can help us develop new, more resilient crop varieties that are better able to survive these changing conditions.”
“GMOs, combined with improved conventional farming methods and new biological crop protection products will help us meet the food security challenges we are facing.”
