The former Tharaka Nithi senator explained that he forgot to carry the Identity card because he was unaware it was a requirement.
He however clarified that his identity documents were with him and he had sent his assistant to pick the national ID for him.
He said,”I forgot my ID but I have sent for it and it is on the way.”
Additionally, the chair of the vetting committee asked Kindiki to be sure that his Identity card will be availed today as the vetting process goes on.
Wetangula stated,”Kindly confirm that you will avail your ID today.”
A nominee’s identity card is among the key requirements of the vetting process.
Other documents include; Academic certificates, and clearance reports from recognized entities such as the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) and the police.
A wealth declaration report to ascertain, your assets and how you acquired your wealth is also necessary.
Kindiki is the first cabinet nominee to appear before the vetting committee on second day.
Other Handpicked cabinet nominees to appear before the vetting committee include; Moses Kuria (Trade), Aisha Jumwa (Gender) and Njunguna Ndung’u (Treasury).
