Jobs for hustlers as government advertises tenders in nyanza region.
Youths are set to earn in the government’s housing initiative. A notice by the National Housing Corporation (NHC) carried in local dailies on Wednesday, October 19, has welcomed prospective bidders to apply for a tender for the construction of affordable houses in the Nyanza region.
The proposed Homa Bay Affordable Housing project will comprise studio apartments( commonly known as bedsitter) and one and two-bedroom units per William Ruto’s plan.
The head of state plans to deliver 200,000 low-cost houses annually for the next five years.
President Ruto stated,”I will return to kickstart the housing project here in Homa Bay. We have already planned to construct the first 2,000 units here in Homa Bay. This will aid in providing employment to the youth as well as a plan for low-cost housing to enable people to live a dignified life.”
The building of this houses will also be a platform for job creation in the form of manpower during the project’s construction.
The jobs will be available plumbers, masons, interior designers, truck drivers as well as suppliers, among other construction related positions.
