Child rescued after Mashirima Kapombe’s news feature
8 year old Child rescued after Mashirima Kapombe’s news feature of effects of hunger in arid areas.
The boy by the name Moses Jackson went viral after he broke down during Kapombe’s news feature stating that he was starving due to lack of food.
Moses goes to Kavunzoni Primary School where the teacher added that he could not concentrate in class out of hunger, compelling him to sleep in class.
Moses is to benefit from relief well-wishers who offered to help Jackson and his entire family suffering from the disastrous effects of drought
The relief will also benefit his entire school, where students struggled to find meals during lunch breaks.
Mashirima Kapombe reported,”The feedback has been overwhelming. Church groups, non-governmental organisations and individuals have been calling to find out how they can chip in.”
“World Vision, which is part of the NGOs running programs there, called to announce that they are starting another project immediately – a school feeding program at Jackson’s institution,”Mashirima added.
Mashirima has thanked everyone who chipped in to help the boy who featured in her tears of hunger story.
Kapombe said,”Moses from Tears of Hunger story is not crying anymore, I am. Some of you sent money through World Vision Kenya. Others went all the way to his school and home in Ganze with food and spent time with the family. His school is set to benefit from a school feeding program.”
