Waluke must stay in jail where he belongs.
Lawyer Miguna Miguna has taken it to his social media accounts to state that Waluke got what he deserved.
Miguna went off on Raila stating that his sentiments about Waluke being sentenced to 67 years in Jail are hypocritical.
He questioned on why Azimio la Umoja leader, Raila Odinga after the elections, was vocal about the rule of law yet he’s pressuring the judiciary to release Waluke.
Miguna stated,”He yelled endlessly about the rule of law during the just concluded presidential campaign.”
Miguna further commended the court for its decision to prosecute Waluke, who was found guilty of embezzling Ksh297 million in the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) maize fraud case.
”Waluke must stay in jail where he belongs,” Miguna added.
Miguna’s sentiments comes after Azimio la Umoja leader, Raila Odinga said that Waluke’s sentence was unfair.
Raila stated,“He was charged for billing and receiving money for services he did not deliver and should have been asked to refund it instead. That case should be done away with in totality.”
“How can you condemn a 55-year-old to 67 years imprisonment? That is akin to jailing Raila for 50 years, is that fair? We want Waluke to be granted a bond immediately,” he added.
