Wrangle between Jubilee party and ODM over coalition Key positions.
Wrangle between Jubilee party and Orange democratic party has been witnessed, as politicians are fighting over party positions.
ODM’s Homa Bay Town Member of parliament, Opondo George Kaluma, on Saturday, November 12 argued with former Nyeri Town MP, Jubilee’s Ngunjiri Wambugu.
The argument was based on the criteria that was used to hold nominations to the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).
Ngunjiri seemed to have been offended by Azimio la Umoja leader’s decision to nominate, his own daughter to the EALA race.
Ngunjiri stated,”It’s wrong of Azimio and Raila Odinga to nominate his daughter to EALA. It’s so sad. Absolutely sad. Am sad.”
Ngunjiri added that despite their efforts to Azimio la umoja and support, they have been sidelined ever since.
Ngunjiri said,”We supported Raila, lost our seats, but we are locked out. It’s annoying!”
However, Legislator Opondo came out to defend Winnie and Raila’s decision to front her to the race.
Opondo said,”The nomination slots have been shared among Azimio parties. ODM has nominated six candidates (including Winnie) to be considered by MPs during the election of EALA MPs.”
Kaluma added that Ngunjiri to accept his current political status and move on or ask his party to nominate him.
Ngunjiri lost to UDA’s Duncan Mathenge in the August 9 General Election.
Kaluma said,”Ask Jubilee to nominate you. We’re past petty blackmail. Ugua pole (quick recovery).”
Earlier, the Orange democratic movement, was accused of removing Jubilee and Wiper members from the list of nominees to the PSC.
Members added that they violated the Azimio coalition agreements to share the three slots offered to the opposition.
Among the names that sparked a debate was; Jubilee’s Isiolo senator, Fatuma Dullo, who was replaced with ODM’s Nyamira counterpart Okong’o Omogeni.
