You are sitting on that seat temporarily- Wajackoyah sends message to Ruto.
Roots party leader, who was also among the four presidential aspirants in 2022 general elections, has sent a warning message to the head of state.
He said,”But for Ruto, this is the message, you are the president, and you are sitting on that seat temporarily, don’t make this government hereditary so that you can be the president forever.”
Wajackoyah added that its high time they stop blaming the former president, Uhuru Kenyatta for economic stagnation, and he was also in government.
He said,”Remember that Uhuru has been on that seat. Stop accusing Uhuru of anything because you were both in the past government.”
Prof. Wajackoyah’s remarks, comes days after Fafi member of parliament, opinioned that the presidential term should be extended.
Ever since he lost his presidential bid, prof. Wajackoyah has not been that active in the Kenyan political arena.
The constitution of Kenya stipulates that a president, should not serve more than 10 years. However, United Democratic Alliance( UDA) distanced itself from Fafi’s remarks.
UDA digital strategist wrote,”Remarks by Fafi MP Salah Yakub that there are plans to extend term limits for the President are a product of a fertile imagination by the legislator. UDA distances itself from the utterances by the MP.”
“The Party has not been part of discussions in regard to term limits. The Party is busy implementing the The Plan and will not be part of sideshows,” the statement added.
