Winnie Odinga who was elected to EALA, has taken her twitter account to thank everyone who believed in her.
Winnie Odinga being fronted to the EALA race, raised a lot of controversial stories, with other asking as to why, Azimio la Umoja leader would nominate his own daughter to the race.
In her thanksgiving message, Winnie Odinga recalled the 49 lives that were lost in the year 2017.
She said,”Five years ago exactly today, as we left Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), 49 lives were lost. I am still here by God’s grace.”
“Fast forward to today, I am elected to be a member of the EALA. I am humbled. I am grateful. I am ready. This is for all the ones we lost on the way.”
She further added the kind of efforts she has put in, to make sure she wins the race.
Winnie stated,”I didn’t sleep for one year straight. We put in all the work. We worked with different people, people were there for their own agendas. People were there to sabotage us. People were there to do all sorts of things.”
Winnie Odinga will fly Azimio la umoja’s flag at EALA, this is after she garneted 247 votes in Thursday’s polls at Parliament.
Former Kieni MP Kanini Kega, Kennedy Musyoka and businessman Suleiman Shahbal will also fly the Azimio flag.
Congratulatory messages trickled in, with various people showing their optimism to her being elected.
His brother Raila Odinga junior said,”Congratulations to my sister Winnie Irmgard Odinga as the new EALA MP representing Kenya Hongera.”
