Ruto will still be the president after five years- Atwoli.
COTU Secretary General, Francis Atwoli has of late seemed to be changing the tune on his political standing.
In his statement on Saturday, Atwoli defended himself over the meet up he had at state house with the president, William Ruto.
Atwoli stated that his only concern is the welfare of the Kenyan workers that’s why the meeting was necessary.
He however, stated that William Ruto will still Rule in 2027, citing that if he had the power to take the seat without the support from the deep state, then nothing will stop him in the next general elections.
He stated,”Ruto will still be the president after five years. If he managed to take from us and we were with Uhuru Kenyatta what makes you think in 2027 he won’t take from us?”
He further stated that it’s high time everyone accepts that Kenya kwanza is the ruling party, regardless of their political affiliation.
He stated,”When I go for meetings outside Kenya and I’m asked how Ruto’s administration is doing, I will not say that I was in opposition, I must say the progress of the country because that is my government.”
Atwoli’s interaction with the head of state has raised eyebrows with Kenyans recalling how he was drumming up for Azimio la Umoja leader, Raila Odinga in the August general election.
Together with other leaders from western , Atwoli met up with the president at state house last week. Pictures captured from the meet up indicated Atwoli and President Ruto shaking hands and sharing light moments.
