President Ruto makes changes to national holidays; Details.
Today, the head of state, president Ruto makes changes to the holidays in Kenya.
Speaking at innovation launch week at Sarit centre, Ruto stated that all holidays from now on will be themed.
He stated,”I made the decision that all national holidays are going to be themed going forward.”
The commander in chief, stated that this year’s Jamhuri holiday on 12th december, will be an innovative Jamhuri.
He stated,”We have focused our Jamuhuri Day, our Independence Day because it is an important national day and we want to profile it as an Innovative Jamuhuri.”
He stated that Kenyans should expect another fund called the start up for young people in order to scale up their innovative skills.
He outlined,”A startup bill will be taken to parliament in January so that we can have a startup fund to support innovation, and de-risk young people working on their innovation.”
It is about the whole of government and the whole of society’s approach to doing things differently and recognizing the advantages that we have in the technology space,” he added.
