A case of planned targeted assassination- Pakistan detectives sent to Kenya hand in their report.
Pakistan Authorities sent to investigate the death of Journalist Arshad , have stated that it was a targeted assassination.
The report said,”Both the members of the (fact-finding team) have a considered understanding that it is a case of planned targeted assassination with transnational characters rather than a case of mistaken identity.”
They added that the bullet was shot from a close range and his car was not moving at the time. The Pakistanis authorities also suspect that the other bullet was likely shot from his car.
Arshad was in the Car with his Kenyan host, who however, was not injured
An autopsy done by the detectives, indicate that there were 12 injuries on his body and missing fingernails, a clear indication of a struggle or torture.
Earlier, the Kenyan authorities had reported that his shooting, that happened at a roadblock in Nairobi, was mistaken Identity. The police were in pursuit of a man who had apparently kidnapped a child.
However, the National Police Service and The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (Ipoa) are still probing into the matter.
