The national police service seizes contraband ethanol along Kacheliba, Makutano road. The ethanol was intercepted by the Kapenguria police as it was being smuggled into the country.
NPS wrote,”Police Officers from Kapenguria Police Station yesterday intercepted a consignment of 250 litres of ethanol with an estimated value of Ksh. 6 million, along Kacheliba-Makutano Road. It is suspected that the ethanol was smuggled into the country..”
The seizure led to an arrest of one male. The operation started when the president ordered probe into things being smuggled into the country promoting tax evasion.
National police service wrote,”The successful seizure and subsequent arrest of one male adult is attributed to the collaboration between NPS and Kenya Revenue Authority in the ongoing countrywide crackdown on contraband goods and unscrupulous tax evasion schemes.”
