New NHIF head and list of other board heads appointed by H. E William Ruto.
President William Ruto has appointed a new NHIF head and rolled out a new list of other board heads.
He appointed the former transport cabinet secretary, Michael Kamau as the new NHIF chairperson thereby revoking the appointment of Lewis Nguyai.
He stated,”In Exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 (1) (a) of the National Health Insurance Fund Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces of the Republic of Kenya, appoint Michael Kamau to be the Chairperson of the National Health Insurance Fund, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 23rd December, 2022. The appointment of Lewis Nguyai is revoked.”
Additionally, Job Chirchir was appointed as the Chairperson of the Kenya Forest Service (KFS).
Ex Lieutenant General Walter Raria Koipaton was appointed to serve as the Chairperson of the Kenya Wildlife Service Board.
Anthony Muriuki Munyiri was appointed as the Chairperson of the National Social Security Fund Board of Trustees, revoking General Julius Karangi’s appointment.
However, Karangi was moved to the the National Council for Population and Development Board as the chairperson.
Walter Nyambati was appointed to the geothermal development company board as the chairperson while Faith Boinett replaced Rita Achieng Okuthe on the board of directors of the Kenya Pipeline Company Limited.
