I call upon fellow citizens to help Turkey- Alfred Mutua.
During a press, foreign affairs cabinet secretary, Alfred Mutua made a call to all Kenyan well wishers, to stretch their hand and help turkey.
This comes after the deadly earthquake on monday, that came as a major hit to their houses, businesses and even livelihood.
Mutua stated,”Kenya joins the international community in condoling with Turkey, which has suffered untold losses due to the pandemic.”
” I call upon fellow citizens to help turkey by donating material support such as foodstuffs, clothing, financial support, and medical aid,” he added.
Pick up points will be located across the country, where this goods will be reached. Kenyans have been advised to donate fast moving goods.
He stated,”When donating, I urge Kenyans to help with coffee, tea, groundnuts, and other fast-moving goods.”
In addition to material goods, The cabinet secretary stated that rescue and search teams will be sent to the country.
He stated,” They have asked us to support them with rescue experts, and we shall try to do that.”
He made a call to any Kenyan stuck in Turkey to reach for aid via the emergency number +905385020960.
This comes after president William Ruto condoled with the families who lost their loved ones in Turkey.
He stated,” Our hearts go out to the people of Türkiye and Syria following the loss of life caused by the earthquake. We mourn with families who have lost loved ones and wish all those injured a quick recovery.“
