KANU expels Nick Salat as secretary general.
Kenya African national union party, KANU expels Nick Salat as secretary general, this comes after he was accused of Gross misconduct.
In a meeting chaired by the party leader, Gideon Moi, the party decided that its best they let Nick Salat go.
KANU stated,”That the report of the National Disciplinary Committee recommending the immediate expulsion of Hon. Nick Salat from the position of the Secretary-General of the party on account of gross misconduct and violation of the party constitution is unanimously adopted.”
According, to the party, the members need to practice political neutrality because of what is happening in country.
Additionally,The party stated that underway deliberations and adoption, suitable individuals to fill the vacant national positions, including that of the Secretary-General, on an interim basis.
KANU stated,”The NEC mandated the National Elections Board to immediately develop a mechanism for conducting nationwide grassroots elections before the end of the year to revamp the party’s grassroots structures and enhance national support.”
On December 15, the party suspended Nick salat to decide his fate in the party, this is after he served for over two decades.
The statement from the chair read,”You (Salat) are hereby suspended forthwith from carrying out and/or performing your duties as the Party’s Secretary-General pending the determination of the disciplinary proceedings.”
