We will pursue transformation with an open mind- Ruto at National and county summit.
President William Ruto chaired the 9th county and national government summit at Enashipai Hotel, Naivasha, Nakuru county.
In shared photos, light moments were captured, where the president talked about the economic transformation plan for the country.
President Ruto wrote,” We will pursue radical economic transformation with an open mind, mindful of every opportunity to collaborate with county governments and ever ready to engage in a spirit of mutual respect and understanding.“
“County Governments are at the heart of our development. Given the evident transformation that has come about in the last 10 years, we commit to timely revenue disbursements.”
“ This will hasten devolution and scale up our partnership, particularly in agriculture, security, health and housing.” he added.
On the other hand, deputy president stated that for devolution to work, there must be a collaboration between the county and national government, regardless of the political afilitiations.
DP Rigathi wrote,” For devolution to effectively serve Kenyans, there must be seamless collaboration between the 2 levels of Government; In this regard, the two levels of government are holding the 9th National and County Coordinating Summit chaired by H.E President @WilliamsRuto in Naivasha.“
“Devolution is key to the Kenya Kwanza Administration. Wecannot afford conflicts between the two levels of government; we continue to enhance collaboration between the National Government Administrators and County Government officials. We remain committed to full devolution.”
“The two-day deliberations focus on common frameworks and best strategies of fully entrenching devolution, crosscutting ways of tackling challenges for better service delivery. Despite being distinctive, the two levels of government are complementary to each other,” he added.
