Pokot MP clears air over him funding bandits in the area.
Pkosing, Pokot MP clears air over him funding bandits in the area and the mysterious white chopper that was seen, after the DCI raided the place.
Speaking after his release, Pkosing narrated that he has never any type of crime, or bandits that are stressing people in the north.
The lawmaker, who was elected under Kenya Union Party (KUP), an affiliate of Azimio la Umoja, stated that he fell on the bad side of the DCI detectives after posting bonds for seven boys from Pokot who were labelled bandits.
He however, refuted claims that he met the boys, but acknowleged that indeed he posted bond for them, since they are his constituency members.
He also clarified that the boys, were owners of a herd of cattle who were mistakenly arrested , and they were also victims of the bandit activities.
Pkosing stated,”What I know is that they’re innocent boys, and that is why the court had seen it fit to release them on bond.”
“I am a peaceful person and served in the Peace and Justice Commission before becoming an MP. Everyone is aware of that. And for the record, I have never recorded a police statement before,” Pkosing added.
Defending him, was his lawyer, Danston Omari who stated that his client has never been involved in any crime and has never seen the mysterious white chopper.
Omari stated,” My client was, in a very humiliating manner, picked from the precincts of his offices, and dragged to the DCI on allegations that he is the mastermind of banditry in the north rift.”
“He has given his version of the story. He has never owned a white chopper, and it is all over that the alleged chopper that is supposed to be funding or transporting the bandits is white. The MP has accounted for all the days since this issue started, and that is why he has been released to go home. He’s not under any police custody,” Omari added.
