Days when spouses appear in ceremonies are gone- Musalia defends his move to launch an office for the spouse.
Prime cabinet secretary , Musalia Mudavadi launched the office of the spouse of the prime cabinet secretary.
However, his move has been heavily criticised by many saying, this is another stretch on the pockets of the taxpayers.
Mudavadi stated that the office will complement the office of the first and second lady. He added that days are gone where the wives to politicians will just make appearances at ceremonies, he believes that they have more to offer.
He stated,” I believe the days when the spouses of political leaders only appear in ceremonies and say or do nothing are gone. Their contribution in our family set-up should be mirrored to the larger society for they learn so much from our daily leadership engagements.”
He added that this was the right move for the well good of the country and women at large.
He stated,”Forming the Office of the Spouse to The Prime Cabinet Secretary is a step in the right direction
“Tessie has stepped forward with Ushiriki Wema Initiative to scale down the huge gap that lies within the differently abled people in society,” he added.
He further urged Kenyans to step out and support the spouse in her noble cause.
He stated,”Let us stand out, and come forward as a society so that we can pull together and support Tessie in this noble cause that will impact many lives.”
