CITAM church questions supreme court on their ruling on LGBTQ.
Christ is the answer ministry, CITAM church questions supreme court on their ruling on LGBTQ.
On Friday, the 7 benched judge ruling declared that the community has the same rights as everyone else. They argued that the sex does not necessarily mean the act but an orientation of someone.
In a statement from CITAM’s presiding Bishop Reverend Calisto Odede, the church called the ruling a double speak.
He argued that despite homosexuality being illegal in Kenya, the court still ruled in favour of the Lesbians, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer( LGBTQ) community.
He stated,”This rather contradictory ruling has left many of us wondering whether other illegal practitioners like paedophiles and those involved in incest also have a right of association.”
The reverend further commended a section of judges who have stood their ground in these homosexual matter.
He stated,”We also appreciate and stand with the sections of the Christian faith communities who have stood their ground on matters biblical in spite of the schism from their umbrella organisation.”
The church called upon christians to stand up and reject this matter because it is against the doctrines of the church.”
He stated,”We call upon Christians and Kenyans of goodwill to stand out in opposition to this ruling and express their disagreement openly.”
They however, promised to pray for Kenyans to go back to the ethics they have always known and preserved.
The church’s concerns comes days after a section of churches in the west decided to bless homosexual unions
