Netizens go after CS Kuria in his quest to shutdown the cheapest supermarket, China square
Yesterday, the trade cabinet secretary, Moses Kuria, expressed his concern of how China square is trying to get the local traders out of business.
He posed,”Dear Fred Okengo Matiangi. Why did you issue work permits to the Chinese traders at China Square at Unicity ?”
He however, stated that he will help the owner move to manufacturing instead of competing with traders.
He stated,” I will assist China Square Owner Mr Cheng to set up a manufacturing plant in Kenya and work on a distribution partnership with Gikomba, Nyamakima, Eastleigh, Kamukunji, Muthurwa and River Road Traders.”
However, Netizens go after CS Kuria in his quest to shutdown the cheapest supermarket saying in business there is competition.
Makau tweeted,”If CS Moses Kuria is genuine on China Square that foreigners are invited as manufacturers and not traders, close down KFC and give to Quality Hotels, Carrefour give to Naivas, close Taifa Gas and give to national oil etc. In era of globalization such sediments are unwelcome.”
Sera wrote,”CS Hon. Moses Kuria has began to sound more like Riggy G during campaigns. “WE will close down SAFARICOM and share the SHARES. ” China Square vs TUMBO LISILO SHIBA.”
Thiongo wrote,” For donkey years, Unicity Mall has remained under utilised. If this was about the government promoting local traders, then it would have done so. As a CS, Moses Kuria should know better on the multiplier effect of FDIs. *LET CHINA SQUARE BE!”
The government critic wrote,”Moses Kuria want to grab Lei Cheng’s China Square on pretex of giving it to Gikomba & Nyamakima traders because it’s offering cheap goods which is saving low income earners in this period inflation. Then you shout Kenya Kwanza cares for pple at the Bottom?”
