No kid from a vulnerable family will stay out of school- MP Gisairo talks of bursaries.
Kitutu Masaba member of parliament, Clive Gisairo, has decried slow disbursement of funds by the government to constituencies.
He stated that through this, many students from poor families relying on bursaries will be disadvantaged.
The lawmaker stated for instance, in his constituency, Sh30 million out of the Sh152 million that was allocated to the Kitutu Masaba NG-CDF kitty has been disbursed.
He stated,”What we have received so far is not even enough to cater for the bursaries as budgeted in the current financial year.”
He however assured that him, together with other members of parliament will push for the NG- CDF , that is meant to benefit the citizens of Kenya.
He stated,”As your leaders, what we shall do is to push the national government to ensure that there are resources for our students on time even as we appreciate the difficulties in revenue generation.”
He added that he will work with the members of county assembly, to pool resources as a way of mitigating the education poverty that is happening in constituencies across the counties.
He stated,”Resource pooling is critical in social-economic progress in our constituency.”
MP Gisairo further promised that no student in secondary or tertiary level, will miss school because of lack of school fees.
He stated,”No kid from a vulnerable family will stay out of school for lack of fees, MCAs will take up students in forms one and two.”
