President grants Mudavadi more powers, in today’s state house meeting; he given authority to oversea performance and management across all ministries, state departments and state agencies.
This comes after a review of the Financial Year 2021/2022 Performance Contracting Cycle of all ministries and departments in the government.
The Prime cabinet secretary performs the following;
The Office is mandated to assist the President and Deputy President in the coordination and supervision of Government Ministries and State Departments.
He also overseas and coordinates the National Government legislative agenda across all ministries and state departments in consultation with the party leaders in Parliament.
Together with the Ministry of Interior, Mudavadi is expected to oversee the implementation of National Government policies.
Other key roles include chairing the Principal Secretaries Committees, evaluating projects and performing other tasks performed any tasks assigned by the President.
The statement read,”This is expected to entrench productivity as the Administration’s mantra while also enhancing accountability.”
“To realise this objective, the Administration’s first contracting cycle will crystalise the ministerial priorities approved during the Cabinet retreat held at the beginning of the year,” read part of the statement.
On the other part, The cabinet also approved Ksh4 billion to mitigate the drought situation in the country.
According to the status report on the ongoing drought as well as the support being given to school-going children through the school feeding programme.
The cabinet also sanctioned early preparations for the 2023 KCSE, KCPE and KPSEA examinations.
On JSS, the cabinet stated that no learner will be turned away from school for lack of school uniform so long as they are in their primary school uniforms.
