We are not looking for nusu mkate- Raila states.
Azimio la umoja leader, Raila Odinga has affirmed that he is not looking forward to any handshakes with president William Ruto.
In his interview at KTN, the opposition leader refuted claims that he has been sending signals to the head of state, in order to get a chance for a truce.
He stated,” I do not know any emissaries who have been sent anywhere. I can say without fear of contradiction that I’ve not sent anybody to Ruto.”
He was answering in regards to the assumptions that he has been pushing his demos and rallies for William Ruto to finally give in and let him in to the executive like Uhuru Kenyatta did.
He also dismissed remarks from the deputy president, Rigathi Gachagua which claimed that Raila was looking for the mkate arrangement.
He stated,”We are not looking for half a loaf. Even under (retired President) Uhuru’s government we did not get even a quarter of a loaf.”
Raila clarified that the only time he shares powers in government , was in 2008 post election, when Kofi Annan mediated the electoral crisis and a prime ministry position was created in the government.
He further highlighted that since then, he has bot been in government as propaganda has it.
He stated,”Since that time we have not been in government at all. It’s all useless propaganda.”
