President Ruto DP Gachagua and Raila declare stance on LGBTQ
The first and second in Command ( President Ruto DP Gachagua) have stated stated they will not allow legitimacy of the lesbians, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community.
They added that the country Kenya, has values that must be adhered to and respected by everyone.
DP Gachagua stated,” We shall not condone any attempts to legitimise LGBTQ actions in Kenya. Our values must be respected, and in no way shall we turn back.”
Dp Gachagua further highlighted that Kenya is a religious nation that worships God, he added that the nation will do the right thing.
Gachagua stated,”Kenya is a God Fearing Nation. We have our traditions; we have our customs. We shall do the right thing as a Nation. We are a People of Faith.”
On his part, President Ruto stated ,”I cannot allow our women to get competition from men who chase after men. That will not happen under my watch.”
“we have our culture and traditions, we respect our constitution and all our religions we can’t travel the road of women marrying women or men marrying men. This won’t happen in Kenya,” he added.
Notably Raila stated,”On matters regarding LGBTQ, in our constitution article 45, clause 2 states that every adult has the right to marry a person of the opposite sex. This of the free consent of the parties. This refers to people of different sex, that’s the Constitution.”
” In the new Constitution that we brought in 2010 has three anchors: Parliament, Executive and Judiciary. Each arm has its mandate from Parliament making laws and the executive uses those laws to govern the country. The Judiciary ensures that the law is not broken,” he added
