Shock as high school students beat up their parents during a school raid.
In Homa bay county, Otok mixed secondary school shocked many after they chased their parents out of the school premises.
Apparently, the parents had stormed the school, demanding that the ministry of education must return back the former school principal.
Little did they know, their kids will turn on them and start a circus. The parents forcefully accessed the school administration block and attacked the deputy principal prompting the students to leave class to chase them away.
According to the now principal Owuor, the students became furious of how the parents were airing out the demands.
Owuor stated,”Some of the villagers stormed the compound. They were about 10 of them and they were uttering obscene words that I could not also understand. Fracas ensued and the students ordered them to leave the compound.”
“However, some of them refused to leave and the students started hurling them with stones,” principal Owuor added.
The deputy was taken to the nearby hospital, where he nursed his injuries, and currently reported in stable condition.
Parents taking part in the unruly demo, were arrested and are being questioned at the police station
Speaking to the students, they expressed that they have no idea why the parents have a problem with the new principal, citing that the principal has made major reforms in the schools.
One student rep stated,”Since the principal came in, we have had good results and I am very happy with this school. We shall not tolerate these acts,”
