Disquiet over the CAS list, Kenyans question why 3 CAS per ministry.
Yesterday, President Ruto through the public service commission, released the CAS list.
However, Disquiet over the CAS list has been witnessed, with Kenyans questioning on why the president would allocate three individuals per ministry.
Kenyans took it to social media to raise their views;
Conrad expressed,”A man who not so long ago poised local/foreign travels in a bid to cut spending has appointed 50 CAS. Some ministries have up to 3 CAS. NB: The 50 CAS will have a driver, PA, two secretaries, two researchers, two police guards, a cook, and a servant all paid for by the state.”
The government critic stated,”Prof. PLO Lumumba criticized Raila Odinga without caring the hell why Baba wants Maandamano. Today we have seen the appointment of 50 CASs as opposed to 23 CASs. It means 3 CAS per each ministry. Hope he’s happy about the trajectory of the country, let him praise William Ruto.”
Another tweep wrote,” Those praising Zakayo William Ruto please think twice. The oath by the PSC was to create 23 CASs its now extra by 27 bringing to 50 CASs. 3 CAS for Rigathi Gachagua. What is the economic implications of this in a struggling economy? LGBTQ issues? GMOs? “
Solomon wrote,” A sane person should question the priority of this government,why would you appoint 50 CAS costing around 30B monthly when the cost of subsidizing basic commodities is just around 4B? Zakayo mtuza Ushuru why allocate 3 CAS to GACHAGUA and Mudavadi each? TUENDENI MAANDAMANo.”
Savula expressed,”My take is that nomination of 50 CASs … at a time when our economy is struggling, food unaffordable and Raila Odinga threatening with maandamano.. was wrong.
Having 2 to 3 CAS per ministry is an overkill leading to a boated govt. President Ruto could have found a better way.”
Ken wrote,” We found empty coffers” they Said and then they go ahead to appoint 50 CASs. It will cost the taxpayers 460 Million Years in gross salary.”
