UDA condemns vandalism of Kisumu office, calls for investigations.
Through the secretary general, Cleophas Malala, UDA condemns vandalism of Kisumu office in the protests that happened today.
Malala stated that the move was reckless and unacceptable. He called on Kenyans to condemn it and police to investigate on what really went down.
He furthet urged all political leaders, to desist from inciting violence and focus on matters development.
He stated,”We urge all political leaders to desist from inciting violence and instead focus on issue-based politics that will benefit all Kenyans.”
Malala however, highlighted that despite this, UDA will still remain focused in delivering their manifesto.
He stated,”We remain committed to our vision of a united and prosperous Kenya where every citizen has equal opportunities to succeed. We will not be deterred by the actions of a few individuals who seek to derail our progress.”
Its been a day of its own, especially in parts of Kisumu county where it was a temple run and battlefield for the better part of Monday.
Azimio supporters came out in large numbers and obeyed calls by their leader Raila Odinga to participate in mass action against the Kenya Kwanza government.
On his part, Kisumu county Governor, Anyang’ Nyongo called upon his people to be peaceful and considerate when they are protesting.
Nyongo stated,” In future demonstrations, our people should apprehend and hand over to the police, anyone damaging property.”
