Speaking during an interview at Citizens TV, Malala reveals night talks with Raila allies who tried to broker a deal with Ruto.
He stated that a section of Raila allies approached them to push Ruto to agree to the opposition’s demands.
He claimed was trying to find a way out of the current mess after they came to the realization that Ruto would not be intimidated or easily give in to their demands.
He stated,”There is a high level of conversation behind the scenes. These people are coming to us, begging and asking us not to embarrass them.
“Azimio is telling us that they have an exit strategy and that we should agree to their demands. They are unable to come out of this quagmire.”
However, Narok senator Ledama Ole Kina who was in the same interview, refuted the claims and detailed that any Azimio ally who is in talks with Kenya kwanza, should leave the party.
He stated that Azimio la Umoja’s main aim is to air the grievances of Kenyans, not promote the interests of politicians.
He stated,”Absolutely not true. I am the Minority Whip of the Senate and I can tell you that we are speaking for many Kenyans. Our brothers who are in bed with the government should proceed. We are with Kenyans.”
Malala further warned Azimio allies over Raila’s double speak. He recalled risking his life to join in Raila’s swearing in, little did they know, Mr. Odinga had underway plans of handshake.
He stated,”I was with Ledama at Uhuru Park swearing in Raila. Little did we know that there was a handshake. I want to tell him that he is alone.”
Malala further called upon Raila’s to call off the protests or they will also influence their people to boycott Azimio products.
He stated,”Let me tell them, you cannot throw stones when you are living in a glass house. We also have companies which we can resist.”
