Gachagua reveals Matiangi’s call to him when Uhuru betrayed him during DCI chaos
While speaking on his tour at Kisii county, Gachagua reveals Matiangi’s call to him when he was being investigated by the directorate of criminal investigations.
Gachagua praised Matiang’i for being loyal to Uhuru during his regime, but the former president abandoned him when he needed him the most.
Deputy president Rigathi reveals that the former interior CS has no other option, but to call the second in command to Atleast get him out of this fire.
During the calls, Gachagua revealed that he remained truthful to the former CS and even reminded him of how he (Gachagua) was mistreated in Uhuru’s administration( the numerous arrests).
In his word, Hon. Gachagua states that Matiang’i was not at fault, he was just doing his job in as much as it was clear that Uhuru was mistreating him.
He stated,”In the previous administration, Matiang’i was used to intimidate us. Now that they are out of government, they have left him. He is now alone.”
“Recently, when he brought trouble to himself by claiming the police raided his house, he called them and they refused to pick up his calls. He called me. Despite being one of the victims, I picked up the phone and told him how he was misused,” he added.
Gachagua’s narration comes weeks after the office of the director of public prosecutions, dropped all the charges that Matiang’i had been accused of.
DPP Haji stated that the DCI did not have any concrete evidence thereby, the case could not be pursued any further and what remained was closure of the files.
Matiang’i was accused of staging a raid at his Karen home on February 8, whereby he published false information that the police had been sent to arrest him.
