Raila revives BBI as another demand in his anti- Ruto protest.
Azimio la umoja leader, Raila Odinga revives BBI as another demand. In his after- protest address, Raila stated that his building bridges initiative, that he championed together with the former president Uhuru Kenyatta, would address several issues affecting Kenyans.
He explained that because of technical issues, BBI failed to start and after that it was declared unconstitutional, null and void by the court of law.
He stated,”It was not that BBI was irrelevant it was just because of a technicality problem. That needs to be brought back to the table.”
Rail further expressed that until all his demands are met, including the newest BBI, he will not stop the protest. He in fact, stated that the coming monday, will be the mother of all protests.
He stated,”These demonstrations are going to continue. And on Monday we will have another demonstration – the mother of demonstrations irrespective of what our distractors say or think.”
During the address, Raila Odinga condemned the police for shooting live bullets at his car. He stated that the brutality of the police is trying to stop him from fighting for Kenyans, but he won’t be deterred.
He stated,”There’s no justification for the excessive force used against peaceful, unarmed citizens exercising their democratic rights today. The unprovoked attack left my car hit with seven live bullets. Despite this, we won’t be deterred.”
On her part, Martha Karua stated that she is going to sue inspector general, Japheth Koome for destroying her car, during the protest.
She stated,”They were deliberately throwing teargas. I don’t know whether 20 or how many canisters were thrown at Raila’s car and directly at the many cars, including mine. The windscreen is shattered.”
“I will be personally suing IG Koome for the damage on my car,” Karua threatened.
